Position Title:
Inclusion Specialist— Pleasanton Office
Reports To:
Director of Program Development
Starting Salary: $3,467 per month with
excellent benefits
Child Care Links is a private non-profit coordinating agency
supporting children and families by providing resources and
referrals, education, assistance and services for parents,
child care providers, employers and others who are concerned
for children’s well being.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in county-wide efforts to promote inclusive
child care as the standard of care for young children.

Provide Resource & Referral services to help families
locate and maintain child care services for children
with disabilities.
-
Participate in agency-wide program development to
integrate disability/special needs services as
appropriate.
-
Review agency procedures and protocols to assess
strengths and barriers to inclusive child care services.
-
Develop workshops and training activities for parents.
-
Respond to provider requests for support, resources and
technical assistance.
-
Arrange for delivery of available support services to
children with disabilities in community child care
programs.
-
Initiate and maintain contacts with local businesses and
community groups.
-
Accept referrals from and provide referrals to the
Family Resource Network.

Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND
EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelors degree in Special Education or equivalent.
-
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of inclusion
of children with disabilities in community settings,
particularly in child care.
-
Understanding of overarching issues and challenges in
the delivery of quality child care services to all
children.
-
Demonstrated basic knowledge of the intent of laws and
regulations that protect children and their families.
-
Knowledge of or experience with the disabilities service
system serving children including entitlements, process
for securing services and making referrals.

Understanding of child care services (parent and
provider perspective)
-
Demonstrated understanding of the impact of disabilities
on families.
-
Ability to track needs and trends in service delivery
across systems.
-
Experience in proving input in program
design/organizational development in services for young
children.
-
Demonstrated leadership skills.
-
Self-directed and ability to work as part of a team.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Capacity to initiate and maintain interagency
relationships.
-
Insured car and valid California Driver’s License.
